Hi Doug,

I really appreciate your guidance, above and beyond, on this transaction.  You took the time to not only communicate via phone and email (which was very prompt I might add), you went so far as to highlight photos I sent of the doors and engage in a discussion so that you could understand more fully how the doors are constructed due to the fact that the sliding glass doors were installed backwards.  This allowed you to come up with a solution that will work perfectly as well as prevented me from submitting incorrect dimensions.

Normally, it would seem that installing screens is a rather mundane task but in this particular case, I not only wanted affordable, highly functional screens that retract but I also wanted the ability to open my doors on a sunny day to let the air from the Sound cool our place without worrying about bugs and wind blowing open the screens.   This will add a whole new dimension to our living space.

Thank you

Leslie

Screen Solutions Inc Releases Plissé Retractable Screens to National Market
Announces Decision to Offer Free Shipping to Anywhere in the Lower 48 States

Austin, TX -- Sept 22, 2006 -- After a long research and development phase, which began in early 2005, the Plissé retractable screens are now available in the United States. Screen Solutions Inc is the first to offer Plissé retractable screens, which are based primarily on a long popular European design, to American homeowners.

In addition, Screen Solutions Inc has just announced that, effective the week of Sept 25, 2006, they will offer free shipping on all Plissé orders to anywhere in the lower 48 states.

The Plissé retractable screens are designed to fit any style of door or window, without all the problems inherent of traditional retractable and old-fashion door screens. Retractable screens are the solution to keeping bugs out when doors and windows are open, while not obstructing the view outside when doors and windows are closed. The new Plissé retractable screens won't unexpectedly pop open like traditional retractable screens, exposing the home to bugs, animals and the elements. With cooling costs at an all time high everyone could use to save a little on their energy bill. Screen Solutions Inc recently calculated the potential energy savings of using retractable screens at night to let cool air in and closing the doors and windows during the day to trap in that cool air. The calculation, based on an actual homeowners experience in Sun City, Texas, demonstrated a potential annual savings of more than $270 - more than the cost of a single Plissé retractable screen. Plissé retractable screens offer an alternative to the high-priced, complicated versions of retractable screens currently being offered in the national market and they are simple enough for any DIYer, or professional, to install with ease.

Customer Comments

On rare occasion our shipping company damages a product, this was the case with Louis Hansen of Mission, Texas in January of 2007. After he received his new, replacement Plisse Retractable Door Screen he sent us this email:

"UPS has just delivered the new screen door. He gave me a damage call tag and said it will be inspected in McAllen. Thanks so much for the fast service on the replacement and your follow up on all of my e-mails. We have several neighbors that may be ordering the same door as well. We will be sure to let them know of your fast, efficient service...Now all we need is some warmer weather to be able to use the screen door!"

The LaLiberte's of Sun City, Texas said "We were happy with the other retractable screen we had on our front door, but we had Screen Solutions Inc install a Plissé on our sliding glass door to our patio. We like it so much better that we are having them come back and replace the one on the front with a Plissé."

"What a money saver these are for us. We were contemplating putting in more windows in the house because we couldn't find any attractive screen doors that would keep out pests. Security doors are worthless for keeping bugs out! These work great!"
- Tim & Julie Mann of Yuma, Arizona in January 2007

Ginny Irvine emailed us when she received a sample: "Got it today. Husband just got home.....he looks at it, and his comment...'it's a better mousetrap.' High praise from my husband the engineer."

"Excellent customer service," said Carol Adams of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Doyle D. said, "The screen installed with ease and functions great..I would and will recommend it to others."

"Thanks, it fit like a glove, and took only about 10 minutes to install,"wrote Tim Beckel of Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Tom Wyatt of Palo Alto, California wrote in to say, "It was so easy to install; it went up in no time and works great!"

Ann Coakley commented after her new retractable screen was installed: "I used an installer & he was very impressed. I think it is beautiful and the quality is excellent. I am very pleased and so is my husband. Thank you, Ann Coakley."

"Pretty easy to install," said Eric Weeks after getting his new retractable screen up.

"Thanks Doug. The order arrived yesterday! Appreciate all your help. Have recommended the screens to all the neighbors!"
- Jack Stair of Wilmington, N.C.

In January of 2007 we sold a new Plissé retractable door screen to Carol Ressler of Melbourne, Florida.

She took the time to send us this very nice email:

Hi,

Thanks so much, we'll look for it this week sometime.

Sure, I'll be glad to take some pics of the door once we get it installed. It's a cut glass door with matching sidelights that we had installed by a company called Entry Point. The door was so pretty we decided NOT to install a standard screen door, because we didn't want to cover the glass door when it was closed. This is why the retractable doors appealed to us so much. The house is a stucco house, about 2-1/2 yrs old. With the white trim around the cut glass, and the white trim on the screen door and the house, it's a very pretty installation.

The brand of retractable screen we had was Larson. The model was UltraBreeze, Model EZ100 for single doors. Installation was simple, but we had the 'breeze' problems with the door snapping shut in a good wind, and the screen continually tore along the magnetic edge that held the door open. In addition to those problems, the screen was very hard to pull shut, and loosening the cartridge made the other problems worse, so we had to keep the cartridge wound quite tightly, thus making opening/closing the door difficult.

The only way to fix the tears in the screen was to purchase a whole new cartridge for +/- $80. Larson was kind enough to send us 1 free of charge because the original one broke about 2 months after we installed it. The other 2 we purchased, which made the cost of the door far more than the Plissé and in my opinion the whole adventure was not worth the efforts. We went through 4 cartridges in less than 2 years. That's when we started looking for other options, and I found your website and the Plissé.

Again, I thank you for your service.

Regards,

Carol Ressler
